Ingredients
4 tilapia fillets (6 oz each)
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper, to taste
Lemon wedges and fresh parsley (for garnish)
Execution
Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray.
Season the Tilapia:
-In a small bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.
-Place the tilapia fillets on the prepared baking sheet and brush them generously with the seasoning mixture.
Bake the Fish:
Bake the tilapia in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. The flesh should turn opaque and tender when fully cooked.
Serve:
Remove the fish from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley and lemon wedges for an added burst of flavor. Serve immediately with your choice of sides, like roasted vegetables or rice.
Additional tips
- Add breadcrumbs: For a crispy finish, sprinkle breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan over the fish before baking.
- Spice it up: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the seasoning mix for a spicier version.
- Lemon butter sauce: Drizzle a quick lemon butter sauce over the baked tilapia for added richness.
- Side dish ideas: Pair with quinoa, steamed asparagus, or a fresh garden salad for a complete meal.
