Execution
Prepare the Curry Sauce
In a medium saucepan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
Add Tomatoes and Spices
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, curry powder, smoked paprika, sugar, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the Worcestershire sauce and apple cider vinegar, adjusting the seasoning as needed. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of water.
Cook the Sausages
While the sauce is simmering, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the bratwurst and cook until browned on all sides and fully cooked through, about 10-15 minutes. If you prefer, you can also grill the sausages for added flavor.
Slice and Combine
Once the sausages are cooked, remove them from the skillet and let them rest for a minute. Slice the sausages into bite-sized pieces and arrange them on a plate. Spoon the curry sauce generously over the sausages.
Serve
Garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve with French fries or bread rolls on the side for dipping into the delicious sauce.
